Pet Dental Care Veterinary Service in El Cajon, CA

Why is dental care so important? Recent studies have shown that 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease.

Pet Dental Cleaning/Extractions

It’s just as important for dogs and cats to see a dentist as it is for you. The oral health of your pet is inextricably linked to their overall health.
As well as bad breath, yellow or brown teeth, loose, broken, or missing teeth, red, inflamed, or bleeding gums, difficulty or pain when chewing, pawing at the mouth, and excessive drooling are all indications of dental disease. Contact our team if you experience any of these symptoms, and we will be happy to assist you.

Routine dental exams and cleanings under general anesthesia are essential for preventing bone loss and tissue inflammation. Untreated dental disease can increase your pet’s risk of heart, kidney, and liver disease. We can perform general cleanings and extractions. Please contact us to schedule an examination to assess your pet’s oral health.

Pet Dental Extractions

If the dental disease has progressed, tooth extraction may be required. If this is the case, your veterinarian will administer local anesthesia to your pet’s mouth to ensure maximum comfort. Our veterinarians have extensive experience with tooth extraction. Comfort and speedy healing are priorities; your pet will receive in-hospital pain management as well as pain medication. To ensure proper continuity of care, we recheck all pets undergoing extractions two weeks after the procedure at no cost to confirm that proper healing has occurred and that a plan for long-term oral health is in place.
